Julie Van Der Meyden

Julie began her Pilates practice in 1998. The work is a study of the movement of the body, or kinesiology, which is one aspect that appealed to Julie and continues to shape her exercise philosophy.

"It's amazing to watch people's bodies when they do Pilates on a regular basis. They have such a wonderful mind-body connection. When a teacher can cue a student to control a certain part of the body and they do it, it is so cool!!"

Julie began training at Push Pilates in September 2005 and immediately felt at home. She knew it was time to teach instead of just doing Pilates. She went through immersion and began Teacher Training in March of 2006, and recently completed the 800-hour program.

Julie is also a Corporate Flight Attendant. She has been married to Dirk for 12 years and has three children, Zachary, Damon, and Bridget, and two Yorkshire Terriers, Nova and Chloe. Juggling family, work and teaching has been a major accomplishment and shows her love for the practice of Pilates.
